  1. No it's not. Iran is also under US sanctions and yet it's doing fine. No one told Venezuela to let its oil infrastructure rot. No one told Venezuela to seize and shut down private enterprise and blow the treasury on buying votes from the poor. Venezuela did this on its own volition.
