@marutanray AHHH! The typical socialist response.
1
@marutanray Exactly.
1
No. Keep blaming socialism. <and the rest of the people have food and housing> Until the housing deteriorate and crumble and the food run out as with every other attempt at real socialism.

@surendramumgai631 They're just reciprocating the hostility the Venezuelan government have shown them. Most of Venezuela's problems are self-inflicted. It destroyed private enterprise, fired all the skilled and competent personnel in favor of political friends who went on to run the oil industry into the ground. Not to mention Chavez blew the oil revenues on buying votes from the poor as opposed to infrastructure upgrading and maintenance.

<and a real Socialism can begin afresh, without covert attempts at subversion of an otherwise quite functional State by a maniac bunch of greedy, not to mention venal, foo's (and there overseas compatriots).> Like what Romania under Ceausescu had? <So this is what happens when a very limited number of people try to privatise access to the oil reserves of a country, as has been the case with Venezuala for the last decade and more.> Namely Chavez and Maduro.
1
@scottm8579 <But Maduro doesn't have any idea how to do it. He's a socialist/communist. > Nor is he interested in knowing how. <Venezuela has farms to produce crops as well.> You mean had until Chavez seized all the farms and let them go infertile.
1
Russell Scott They got what they voted for.
1
@wilcoxwilcox3272 And how many of those 90% of privately-owned businesses are still operational after Chavez's price controls? Venezuela is a functionally SOCIALIST country as there are barely any privately owned businesses still around let alone thriving.
1
@Tumbadoraable And apparently neither do you citing Western Europe as socialist. Since when were capitalist welfare states socialist?
1
That's only because it embraced capitalism.
1
Let's just hope that the government doesn't try to seize his food.
1
Of course you do. You're on the PSUV's payroll.
1
How exactly? Sanctions didn't make Maduro seize and shut down many of the private businesses and have them sell their products at rock-bottom prices. Maduro did that all by himself.
1
Um. No. This is all brought you by Nicolas Maduro and his mentor, Hugo Chavez.
1
@marcplante8760 Oh yes they are. Who told them to kick out the skilled personnel in the oil industry and replace them with government stooges? Who told them to squander all the oil revenues on vote-buying letting the infrastructure rot and crumble? Who told them to seize and shut down all the profitable private businesses? Who told them to force merchants to sell their goods at rock-bottom prices? And all this was going on before 2017 when the sanctions came in effect.Venezuela was only doing well and fine until the oil prices dropped and it was no longer able to keep up the facade.

@crimsonking8942 Capitalist welfare states don't count.
