Like many socialist/communist supporters, Bernie barely worked a day in his life and is a property-owning millionaire.
1
LOL. That's if you don't mind being the government's property.
1
That would be $4791.67 per month.
1
Communism never was a better system than capitalism at any point in time. Embargoes are a lame excuse for ineptitude and short-sightedness.
1
Apparently, Canadian tourists stopped visiting Cuba.
1
Cigars.
1
Unless you're Singapore.
1
LOL. Cuba doesn't have anything worth trading, because the Cuban government hardly lets its own citizens produce and earn an honest living.
1
Rent control = less housing available.
1
You mean Democrats, because the GOP are no the ones running the US into the ground.
1
But they're not the problem. The real problem is the government with its taxes, regulations and bureaucracy that makes housing costly to build and maintain.
1
All subsidized by those ineligible for government housing.
1
But Australia has more homelessness per capita than the US.
1
LOL.
1
The same democratic socialism that condemned Jamaica and Greece to stagnation and economic crisis.
1
Exactly. Living in the most popular city is a privilege, not a human right.
1
The only unfair sanctions on Cuba comes from the Cuban government.
1
LOL. Good one.
1
Well, for good reason. Socialism/communism = give all money and power to a few rich people namely government bureaucrats and terrorist cult leaders OOPS! I mean revolutionaries and freedom fighters.
1
Communism/socialism = power to the state (c) Margaret Thatcher.
1
LOL.
1
Abe was a right-leaning, though.
1
Communism is the problem. Cuba and North Korea are long overdue for reforms, but the leaderships much rather let the countries continue suffering than end up like the USSR and the Eastern Bloc circa 1991 if it means they stay in power. <Just look at Vietnam, China, and Russia, they're doing just fine and evolved after so many years of communism> Only after they toned it down and liberalized their economies.
1
Yet the US's problem is nowhere nearly as bad as Australia's or Canada's as Canada now has the highest household debt among all developed countries.
1
Lazy, gullible, delusional and entitled.
1
The embargo is nothing compared to the 70 years of economic repression by the Cuban government.
1
<Cuba did not fail because of communism.> Yes it did. And the sanctions were nothing compared to the loss of Soviet aid that did far more damage to whatever economy Cuba had.
1
The Cuban government.
1
State-run barbershops.
1
Exactly.
1
@Derek032789 And both of the Castros were White.
1
By any means necessary.
1
The problem with socialism and communism is that whatever successes they do achieve are often short-lived.
1
Cuba embraced Soviet imperialism.
1
He who feeds you owns you. (c) Thomas Sankara.
1
@tkatrich3 <and weren't allowed to work most of their adult life> They were allowed to work. Presumably, they did work prior to getting married and quitting their job so they could be SAHM's.
1
Exactly.
1
The embargo is nothing compared to the loss of Canadian tourism, Venezuelan oil, US remittances and food aid and Russian/Soviet aid.
1
High taxes and punitive regulations that restrict supply and production is not capitalism.
1
No. Your White Democrat wannabe-Marxism is much further along in taking you there.
1
The 1% vs. 99% the left loves to accuse capitalism of.
1
<Aussies only think of housing as investing.> Because they care about their futures enough to do so unlike many renters.
1
@DemocracyAboveAll No more sicker than Obama scrapping the wet-foot-dry-foot policy to make sure Cubans fleeing could no longer do that.
1
It worked for the UK with Margaret Thatcher.
1
And the MPLA in Angola.
1
@johnnykeys1978 Exposed for what? Telling the truth that living in Sydney is a privilege, not a right?
1
Communism in practice = short-term prosperity, long-term stagnation and regression.
1
That came to be because of capitalist reforms Deng adopted when he took over after Mao died.
1
Exactly.
1
Socialism is destroying Canada.
