Don't forget Venezuela and the US.

Minimal at best. Most of the problem is from the Cuban government's economic repression.
2
Just ask Black people.
2
Plus, Marx had a bourgeoisie upbringing.
2
LOL
2
@risinbison1106 Exactly.
2
Notice how the USSR and China began prospering when they toned down the communism?
2
Deng's free-market reforms and the West's outsurcing of manufacturing jobs.
2
Vietnam toned it down and adopted some capitalist reforms. Cuba is still a near-100% command economy.
2
No it didn't. Cuba is still a command economy.
1
It's starting to resemble the late 80's when the USSR had to cut off aid and let its vassal states go.
1
LOL. It would have stagnated and fell to ruin. Tanzania didn't suffer from any Western meddling yet its socialist experiment failed all the same.
1
Like Romania under Ceausescu. Or even Venezuela under Maduro.
1
This is the 1% vs. 99% leftists complain about.
1
No. There is little food, because the Cuban government killed off domestic food production in favor of imports. Yet they swear they're self-reliant. LOL
1
Look no further than any Black-majority housing project in the city to see what Democrats have in store for America.
1
Cuba's economic issues are self-inflicted.
1
But it still beats socialism any day of the week even by Marx's own admission.
1
It was when Batista was in charge.
1
With communism, Cuba is a run-down (sex) tourist resort for Canadians and Europeans.
1
<They need to adopt ancient Afrikan functional socialism,> Like the one that bankrupted Tanzania under Nyerere?
1
Pol Pot killed 20% of Cambodia's population because of communism.
1
No. 60 years of communism in its full glory coupled with the loss of Russian/Soviet and Venezuelan aid is what brought us Cuba today.
1
Mankind never was equal. Why else would Marx advocate stripping people if their freedom and personal agency to bring about a "new man?"
1
Like the Black Panthers?
1
Yes it is. <They are dictators.> Like every other socialist/communist. <When countries aren't democratic, governments stop investment in their people via social programs.> You mean vote-buying power-consolidating programs.
1
Just like they couldn't afford to feed Eastern Europe, Afghanistan, North Korea and Mongolia.
1
It was under Batista.
1
Or Lenin's policies in the USSR.
1
Pretty much.
1
Like many socialist/communist supporters, Bernie barely worked a day in his life and is a property-owning millionaire.
1
Communism never was a better system than capitalism at any point in time. Embargoes are a lame excuse for ineptitude and short-sightedness.
1
Apparently, Canadian tourists stopped visiting Cuba.
1
Cigars.
1
Unless you're Singapore.
1
LOL. Cuba doesn't have anything worth trading, because the Cuban government hardly lets its own citizens produce and earn an honest living.
1
You mean Democrats, because the GOP are no the ones running the US into the ground.
1
The same democratic socialism that condemned Jamaica and Greece to stagnation and economic crisis.
1
The only unfair sanctions on Cuba comes from the Cuban government.
1
LOL. Good one.
1
Well, for good reason. Socialism/communism = give all money and power to a few rich people namely government bureaucrats and terrorist cult leaders OOPS! I mean revolutionaries and freedom fighters.
1
Communism/socialism = power to the state (c) Margaret Thatcher.
1
LOL.
1
Communism is the problem. Cuba and North Korea are long overdue for reforms, but the leaderships much rather let the countries continue suffering than end up like the USSR and the Eastern Bloc circa 1991 if it means they stay in power. <Just look at Vietnam, China, and Russia, they're doing just fine and evolved after so many years of communism> Only after they toned it down and liberalized their economies.
1
The embargo is nothing compared to the 70 years of economic repression by the Cuban government.
1
<Cuba did not fail because of communism.> Yes it did. And the sanctions were nothing compared to the loss of Soviet aid that did far more damage to whatever economy Cuba had.
1
The Cuban government.
1
State-run barbershops.
1
@Derek032789 And both of the Castros were White.
1
The problem with socialism and communism is that whatever successes they do achieve are often short-lived.
1
Cuba embraced Soviet imperialism.
1
He who feeds you owns you. (c) Thomas Sankara.
1
The embargo is nothing compared to the loss of Canadian tourism, Venezuelan oil, US remittances and food aid and Russian/Soviet aid.
1
No. Your White Democrat wannabe-Marxism is much further along in taking you there.
1
The 1% vs. 99% the left loves to accuse capitalism of.
1
And the MPLA in Angola.
1
Communism in practice = short-term prosperity, long-term stagnation and regression.
1
That came to be because of capitalist reforms Deng adopted when he took over after Mao died.
1
Exactly.
1
Socialism is destroying Canada.
1
The embargo is the least of Cuba's problems. The main problem lies with the Cuban government and its model that has done nothing except set the country back.
1
From the Cuban government and its command economy.
1
<where a bunch of dudes claimed most of the riches> Namely ex-members, descendants and beneficiaries of the old communist guard.
1
LOL. It's interesting to see socialism and successful put in the same sentence.
1
<She is an anti-Castro zealot, like her father.> And for good reason. Castro set Cuba back decades with his economic repression. <She’s not even pretending to be an independent observer.> Any more than one who simps for the Cuban government.
1
Does she not know that Cuba was the 2nd to last country in the Americas to abolish slavery?
1
There's hardly anything free-market about Haiti.
