  12. But it wasn't the sanctions' fault that Venezuela mismanaged the oil industry to ruin. Chavez went of his own way to fire all the skilled personnel and replaced them with political supporters who weren't up to the task.

  13. Venezuela did itself no favors with firing its experienced personnel and replacing them with political bootlicks who weren't up to the task along with Chavez decimating whatever private sector the country had with price control and free money.
