  2. The only real sanctions on Cuba is that by the Cuban government against its own people. Cuba's isolation currently from the rest of the world is by choice, hence the import restrictions and refusal to accept aid.

The food shortages are due to Castro killing off all the farmers leaving the land to go infertile destroying its own ability to feed itself in the long run. Plus, the average Cuba is not legally allowed to farm.

  14.  @darrenbutler9819  Not really. Medical supplies are blocked by the Cuban government as they refuse to accept any aid from the US and most other countries in general. It figures. They're trying to prove how self-reliant they are despite 60+ years of killing off the successful and productive.
