@Zeno7741 Like being an easy target for your enemies?
2
@Décio_pintol Because poor people are easier to control especially when there's no middle class to stand in the way as advocated by Marx, an upper-class guy.
2
@MyPetrushka And why should they? Plus, it's not their fault that the Venezuelan people were dumb enough to have neo-Marxists run their country and ultimately into the ground.
2
No. This is more every other US city under Democrat leadership.
2
Why? They're the ones who voted for Maduro.
1
JimboParadox No. Maduro's policies ruined Venezuela.
1
@varsam Free stuff is socialism as it's predicated on the fallacy that the government or some other centralized authority is the answer to what ails the people by stealing from the productive and intelligent and giving to the lazy and ignorant (not to mention envious) under the guise of social justice and equality.
1
@yokepinglee Nope. The present government is more interested in helping its people stay dependent for their survival along with staying in power.
1
Dark of the knight Sure it the least evil.
1
Like Guyana and much of the Caribbean did.
1
The same capitalism that made Venezuela the most prosperous country in South America before Chavismo?
1
No. Maduro's incompetence crippled Venezuela. Lay off that Chavista Kool-Aid.
1
LOL. You know that Venezuela is now the poorest country in South America with the world's highest crime rate, right? And once upon a time it was the wealthiest.
1
@titobrozzi7425 Yet Venezuela has the world's highest crime rate. Brazil is #7. <You can’t win arguments by making up stories son> You must be speaking of yourself. <Honduras along has been under capitalist rule for over 500 years , so far one if not the poorest country in the American Continent> Yet Nicaragua is even poorer having socialism for decades and is currently the 2nd poorest country in the Americas. <??? Boi , where did you get that BS ?> Where did you get yours?
1
Exactly.
1
No. Venezuela voluntarily seized and shut down its factories.
1
Venezuela = Latin America's Zimbabwe.
1
They voted for it thinking that big government is the answer to all their problems.
1
@hx-flixblog4569 LOL The sames Chavistas that can be found living it up in evil capitalist USA? The same Chavistas that allowed Hugo Chavez to die a billionaire? Okay.
1
@tommywong3147 Socialism doesn't work even in that scenario as the Pilgrims proved.
1
@johnyohann6946 Venezuela is democratic socialism in literal form. Socialism does spread the wealth. Namely crumbs for the people and the whole pie for the socialist elites and their families, friends and comrades. Social democracy is a communist idea coined by Lenin.
1
Exactly. ****hole countries are ****hole countries for a reason. The leadership isn't the only one to blame.
1
But split up due to the egos of its leadership.
1
@roskillboyz8880 You mean power OVER the people as socialism empowers governments.
1
Agreed. Socialists are just power-mongers using the poor to advance their selfish cause.
1
How's this the US's problem?
1
@johnlinnon2629 Sweden is a capitalist welfare state. Sweden hasn't been socialist since the 70's.
1
The same people who voted for Maduro?
1
Exactly.
1
Exactly.
1
Since when was a military about the people? The military is about the government they're employed by.
1
@walden6272 China is still communist. Most of the so-called private businesses are owned by government lackeys and those with political ties.
1
@padredemishijos12 LOL. No it didn't. Socialism just threw money at the poor to make its poverty levels look good until it had no more money to keep up the facade stolen from the wealth-producing "bourgeoisie" and letting its oil infrastructure crumble and rot.
1
LOL.
1
But they foolishly gave them up to Chavez.
1
The Chavistas?
1
Because before Chavez and Maduro, Venezuela was the most prosperous country in South America.
1
Toob247 Toob247 LOL. Is that why he let the oil infrastructure crumble and rot, chasing out all the skilled personnel in favor of political stooges, and blew all the oil revenue on buying votes from the poor?
1
LOL. The right wing doesn't need an agenda to discredit socialism. Socialism earned its discrediting by its 100-plus-year track record of tyranny, starvation, genocide, economic ruin, persecution, etc. on its own. Socialism is a failure even in countries that actually got US/Western or were left alone support like Guyana, Romania and Yugoslavia.
1
Unless you're part of the ruling class.
1
But he had no problem praising the likes of Daniel Ortega.
1
@wanglei91 No. Thanks to Venezuela being dumb enough to adopt socialism.
1
Their freedom.
1
No they did not.
1
@joaqva9397 They love it as long as they don't have to live under it like the average Latin American.
1
Via land redistribution.
1
Now you know how the average Angolan and Equatorial Guinean feel.
1
@e_artz1625 Like Chavez?
1
Venezuela still has free elections. Romania under Ceausescu never had such a thing.
1
@muurisoras5878 No. It all comes comes down to lazy and envious people wanting the easy life thinking the government is the almighty God that can solve all of their problems.
