Video game prices started rising in Canada at the beginning of 2014. Harper was the PM. I remember when it went from $60 to $65-75. It didn't become $80 until 2016-2017.

New Zealand is a country in the middle of nowhere. You're probably also paying for however much it costs to get the games in the country.
