Well, forced collectivization of land is part of the abolishment of private property policy all communists and socialists alike follow.

Somalia after 1991.
3
@user-vs6oe8fl3m But the government controls most of the economy.
2
Central planning? Centralized authority that communism have consistently produced?
2
Only thanks to subsidies from the rest of India. Just like Serbia in the old Yugoslavia.
1
Cuba.
1
Exactly.
1
@seanbattersby7361 Yes it does.
1
He's the Supreme Leader.
1
So is Laos.
1
Namely between the Kim Jong-Un government and everyone else.
1
It is inherent in communism. This is in line with Marx's call to make "a new kind of man." Communism = collectivism = brutal suppression of the individual required.
1
Judging by all the labor camps, mass genocides, cult of personalities, famines, state Atheism, etc. both of them left in their wakes, there's hardly any difference. Soviet Union China North Korea Vietnam Cambodia (insert Eastern European country here) Venezuela Nicaragua Guyana Ethiopia Zimbabwe Benin Congo - Brazzeville Angola Mozambique (East) Germany Cuba Laos
1
While you're too stupid and cowardly to go live in Cuba. No, not as a tourist or a socialite, but as a citizen.
1
You, still. If socialism/communism is so great, how come you don't live there already?
1
@shinoasada2216 Mostly owned by Party members and relatives.
1
Ethiopia under communism was the poster boy for famine. One of the many results that communism have consistently produced when applied properly.
1
Like in Pol Pot's Cambodia?
1
Like Somalia?
1
In communism, people = government bureaucrats. The average ordinary people are little importance.
1
@rijkersmith3241 It was Russia forcibly annexing the other 13 nations against their will to achieve socialism.
1
To add to the latter: Mass starvation (often state-imposed) forced labor State Atheism citizens getting treated like illegal immigrants as there's no freedom of movement
1
You know the Soviet Union was every bit as imperialist as America is, right?
1
Cambodia says HI!
1
@ Robert Suhren And as with the case of all socialist/communist countries, it requires indoctrination and violent suppression of individual freedom.
1
Transnistria is not a country.
1
Cambodia says HI!
1
@xavierrajda933 Pretty much.
1
Even if there was, few commie-sympathizers would want to live in it anyway. They're too communist to live like the average person subject to it.
1
And how many more people have to needlessly suffer and die before this communism is achieved?
1
Propped up by the rest of India.
1
Exactly. Either that or it hasn't been tried in places like the US or England. So far, the only places that communism has been tried were places that were developmentally backwards. Namely Africa, Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe. In other words, tried by the wrong kind of people.
1
@ SoyuzNkk A better place for who? The political elite?
1
@ SoyuzNkk That better place is not going to exist as long as people can think for themselves and act on it in ways that take advantage of others for personal gain. Humans are not going to do just anything if they don't receive some kind of personal benefit. Communism doesn't work, because in essence, it's based on a rather naively optimistic view of humanity which even Karl Marx admitted and advocated its violent suppression to bring about a "new breed of man." That better place, funnily enough, have always resulted in its supporters getting jailed, killed and exiled once they found out that they were expendable.
1
For what? So the communists can become the new "capitalist" oppressors?
1
Namely between the Chinese Communist Party lackeys and the average Chinese person.
1
AH YES! Anarchy. In a world that proven time after time that when left to their own devices, humans are incapable of self-governance.
1
@seanbattersby7361 Mostly old folks who either worked for or received favors from the regime.
1
No. Sweden had to undergo free-market reforms after socialism left it near-bankrupt in the 1970's.
1
Like the local revolutionaries wouldn't have done the same, no outside help needed, like Robert Mugabe and Forbes Burnham.
1
Like what Somalia had after 1991?
1
@ MyMLGshoe The same traditional Soviet communism that produced the Red terror, militant atheism and the original personality cult in the form of Lenin?
1
Cambodia had Pol Pot Romania had Nicolae Ceausescu East Germany had Erich Honecker
1
@supermouse73 He means Fidel.
1
Yet they all produced the same results of tyranny, mass starvation, genocide, etc. So whatever differences they may have had are irrelevant.
1
They are communist just like the ones that didn't last. It's just that aside from North Korea, they adopted capitalism to keep themselves afloat.
1
@ TehFlush That's because their neighbors are either monarchies or capitalists.
1
Iran is a theocracy.
1
Which workers? Ordinary people or government bureaucrats?
1
Yes it is as democracy spelt the end of Yugoslavia and the USSR.
