@ministryoftruth1451 Yet they swear they're self-reliant.
2
@julesjules5439 But Cuba is still very much a command economy.
2
The US tells the UN what to do, because the US pays the UN's bills.
1
@Richard ASMR English and Dutch are not Latin languages.
1
No. The Castros have done a much better job at breaking Cuba.
1
Scandinavia = capitalist welfare state. South Africa is run by the ANC showing its true colors and returning to its Marxist roots as the party was founded by some Soviet __ and was backed by the USSR during the Apartheid years.
1
So you'd much rather further enrich the Cuban regime with the basic necessities not reaching the people anyway?
1
@julesjules5439 Judging by communism's "flattering" 104-year track record, the US is more than justified in vilifying communism. And not all communist societies were under sanctions or externally meddled with.
1
Cuba needs the US's permission to trade?
1
@johnmanole4779 And the Hong Kongers.
1
Pretty much.
1
End central planning first.
1
While depriving their own citizens of doctors along with supplies, equipment and half-decent infrastructure.
1
@julesjules5439 Or people are intentionally ignoring it, because the embargoes hasn't stopped Cuba from getting food aid by the very same US after Cuba destroyed its own capacity to support itself with the seizing of private factories and farms and letting them crumble and go infertile.
1
You mean indoctrinate yourself as the Cuban government has done way more suppressing of Cuban people than the US.
1
But they get to suffer from malnutrition and die of starvation like the children in communist Ethiopia and USSR did or like the average North Korean.
1
LOL. The US barely has to do anything to make Cuba fail. The Cuban government has done a much better job at that by themselves. It's not the US's fault that Cuba killed off the successful and productive and ever since then is hardly able to support itself requiring outside aid including that from the very same US it sneers at. It's not the US's fault that it's illegal for the average Cuban to farm or make an honest living.
1
@julesjules5439 Not really. Cuba crippled itself for the past 6 decades. It killed off the successful and productive. It doesn't allow the people to start or run businesses. It doesn't allow the people to farm or make an honest living. It can hardly support itself relying on other countries including the very same US it sneers at for basic necessities.
1
Just the PCC elite.
1
@julesjules5439 Yet in socialist societies, the government is the 1% and everyone else, at least those who are not relatives or friends of the government, are the 99%.
1
@julesjules5439 <Socialism is the only way to liberate the Cuban people from being exploited by multinationals> By subjecting them to exploitation by their own government. <Lift the embargo and allow their economy to prosper.> First drop the command economy. <The US doesn’t want socialist countries to prosper.> So, how did communist Yugoslavia, socialist Somalia and Guyana manage to get US support?
1
@lola1987fudgeyouu <Communism means freedom.> For government officials and their well-connected relatives and friends to subjugate the same masses they so swear they have solidarity with.
1
@eisteepfirsich3358 Mostly government and public-sector workers.
1
Because it's illegal for the average Cuban to farm.
1
Also Oliver Stone and Danny Glover.
1
@julesjules5439 Actually it is possible as Cuba gets food aid and remittances from the US. And most of Cuba's miseries are due to the government's command economy and mismanagement.
1
First end the Cuban government tyranny on the Cuban people.
1
@mistergeopolitics4456 No they need the Cuban government to abandon the command economy. And all lifting the sanctions is going to do is further enrich the regime.
1
@julesjules5439 No. It's the Cuban government preventing them from getting the basic necessities as they refuse US aid.
1
<.and no, socialist is not communist.> Yet the results are more of the less the same. See Venezuela and Zimbabwe.
1
@ChrisTheCringe LOL.
1
With most of those factories owned and operated by friends and family of CCP elites.
1
It's just the Cuban government and their cheerleaders that blame the US.
1
Yes blame the one in Havana. <Lift the embargo, end the sanctions> And further enrich the regime as they control everything that enters?
1
Exactly. And yet they have the nerve to claim self-reliant.
1
@ratthing In which the Cuban government refuse to let in.
1
@dave_riots Namely government workers.
1
@Spectacurl No. The biggest problem is the Cuban government.
1
@tonyw2185 Cuba has free elections now? That's news.
1
Because it didn't stop Cuba from getting food aid and remittances to keep it afloat?
1
And neither do you.
1
And further enrich the Cuban regime as the Cuban government has done a far better job at starving the people?
1
No. They are desperate because of the PCC tyrants.
1
It does. Only for PCC officials and and tourists like him.
