  2. Trump made a big mistake by not just walking away. That minerals deal wasn't even worth it! If I were Trump I would say "everything we gave under Biden you can see as a gift, but now we are out!" and just walk out. Now Trump's entire presidency is on the brink of being hijacked by the neo-cons. Moment he approves sanctions he will be done, and if he does nothing Ukraine could collapse under his watch and he will get blamed because he didn't walk away on time. He can still walk away, but he mustn't try to save Ukraine. He can't mediate as a peacemaker, since Trump and the USA is still a party to the war.
