That is incorrect the Polish Home Army asked for support from the Soviets who agreed then backstabbed them.

@nobody687 Don't you know the Russians wanted to help the Poles so much they even forbade British aircraft to use their airfields they wanted to help so much themselves. Disgusting history and Russia's problems all come from a refusal to accept it.

@traumvonhaiti The Russians actually encouraged the uprising on radio broadcasts. Do some research yourself. I read a couple of books about it. What could they have done..? Continue their offensive that the uprising was timed to coincide with. Air support. The British flew in supplies and wanted to drop commandos but Stalin forbade it.

@traumvonhaiti while you are at it explain why Stalin invaded Poland with Germany in 1939 ? The Polish uprising was timed to coincide with a Russian offensive that was broadcast over the radio. You are trying to paint over History or do you actually believe what you are saying. No Air support ? No supplies ? Forbidding the use of Soviet airfields by other allies ? Not to mention the persecution of AK members when Russia finally marched in over the bodies of the resistance it had promised to help.

Poland needs to make a direct statement to Russia and Belarus that any more infringements will result in Poland acting in self-defence of its borders. I think Putin wants a NATO intervention so he can save face rather than get beaten by Ukraine. I think NATO countries realise this which is why they are being careful.
