@nevink4717 Voting Voting republican on a NATIONAL level is not any better than voting democrat on a NATIONAL level, but on a LOCAL level you are better off voting republican. Look at NYC prior to Giuliani, during Giuliani, and after Giuliani. It went from a disaster to a success and back to a disaster. And yes we do need more than one party.

You don't even need to go that far, you just need to stop voting for the people (Democrats) who are responsible for the problems.

That is what happens when you have a population that will never stop voting for you. Corporations and foreign countries have money to hold over politicians and they will hold back their money if politicians don't do what they want. If politicians can create a disaster and get votes by running on "fixing it" they will keep doing it as long as it gets them votes.

@k_e3735 In some states, mayors have a lot of power over their counties and governors can't do a lot. It looks like mayors in Mississippi have a lot of power. Look up "the meridian star what mayors do" In general your local government affects your day to day life more than your states government and the state affects you more than the national government.

False. NYC demographics stayed the same after Giuliani won the election. NYC became the safest best large city economy in the world. Democrats are the reason but democrats are more likely to win and screw things up when you have a large black voter population.

@jeffsartadventure3634 Tell that to NYC. Decades of democrat rule in NYC created poverty, homeless, crime, pollution... Rich liberals fled, Giuliani was able to win, crime was lowered in NYC, poverty came down, less homeless... Democrats take back NYC under DeBlasio and its a disaster again.

That would be preferable. They voted based on party. If a black republican ran for office in Jackson they would lose to a white democrat.

L1 D1 As far as America goes I would say Atlanta is the best majority black city but I think its because democrats don't have total power in Atlanta because they are in a red state so they can't do everything they want. If democrats took over the state of Georgia, I'm sure Atlanta would turn into another Baltimore.

@domsim9516 If you have no clean water, an energy shortage, and lack of trash pick ups what would you have to lose by trying a republican? Look at NYC before Giuliani, it was a disaster with homeless, poverty, crime... Giuliani made NYC the best economy and lowest crime city in the world. Democrats have taken it back and its going back to having high crime, poverty, and increased homeless population.
