  3. To be fair thats how it always is for the incumbent. Obama did not have to debate in the 2012 primary. The difference with Biden is that everyone knew Biden was senile and Biden said he would only do 1 term when he ran in 2020. Democrats didn't want to risk RFK winning so they used Biden to skip the primary . Now they will just appoint Kamala or whoever as the candidate.
