  1. They set the precedent of imprisonment without trial and are now scared they will be subjected to the system they created. Under their rules, Cohen could be charged with running a stop sign and sit in jail for 2 years before getting a trial.

  2. Cohen knows democrats are willing to throw him in prison if he doesn't do what they say. He also knows Trump will not do the same thing so its safer to go after the guy who won't abuse power.
