@mirabelarmstrong433 The short and pithy answer is: Democrat policies. In the 60s,70s,80s NYC was ran by progressives. It was a disaster with a lot of crime and homeless issues. Liberal voters moved, Giuliani won in the 90s and he reduced crime amazingly, Bloomberg kept it going. Progressive DeBlasio got in and NYC is now a disaster again. Also it doesn't help when you elect someone who opens the border and floods the country with gangs from other countries. So now you have your own home grown crime plus crime from other countries.

@shuheihisagi6689 Democrats control NYC so I do know its democrat policies. When Giuliani and Bloomberg ran things it was not like this. If you go by the stats you can extrapolate that a young woman in NYC has an 80% chance of voting democrat. A lot of the 20% who did not vote democrat likley already left because they knew what was coming. Perhaps some of the victims are part of the 5%-10% who stayed but they chose to stay knowing it would be dangerous.
