  1. This has been going on for a long time back when Rahm Emanuel was mayor. Its probably now more widespread and the cartels always win these turf wars against the local gangs.

  2. This is not new but its probably a lot more widespread with an open border. Also the cartels usually win the turf wars because many in the cartel are former military and police.
