The pro slave people argued that slaves were property and not human so you can do whatever you want to your property. Its a similar argument for abortion. The pro abortion say the baby is not human, its property. The the pro life say the baby is human with rights.

@janhankins911 The issue is the baby does not have a choice. The pro life says the baby also has rights. 99% of abortions have nothing to do with the mothers survival.

@Justice55339h Exactly. This is the slavery issue of our day. The pro slave people argued that slaves were property and not human so you can do whatever you want to your property. The anti slavery people said slaves were human and had rights. Its a similar argument for abortion. The pro abortion people say the baby is not human, its property. The pro life say the baby is human with rights.

The good thing is you can drive to geet away from republican policy you do not like. But when its democrat policy you either put up with crime and high living costs or you move.

Thats a strawman. The argument from pro life people is that the baby also has rights. Also the gov is constantly telling us what to do with our bodies so your argument is not consistent.

@janhankins911 Then you need to inform yourself because the democrat party supports abortion up to birth. In the state of CO you can get an abortion up to birth. When democrats are asked if they support abortion up to birth they say they support abortion at any time the woman wants it. Some democrats support it days after birth like Ralph Northam.

@Laura-it2zb That statement is an attempt to avoid responsibility for your own choices (in most cases, not all). No one is forcing anyone to get pregnant. In the 1% of situations where there is forced pregnancy its legal to get an abortion in all states. 99% of abortion are elective. Also in that 1% of forced pregnancy, you can take the morning after pill and don't need an abortion.

@janhankins911 Thank you for correcting me. I thought it was 1% but its actually 2%. I got it from a PEW research article. IMO that number is probably wrong. There are women who are abused and are forced to get abortions by their abuser but it doesn't get recorded as abuse by the provider. So you may be correct that it may be a higher number. I don't understand your second statement. Having a bed time for your kid is not the same as ending their life. BTW this is a very difficult issue. I understand the arguments from both sides. I mainly agree with Trump that it should be legal but you should not be able to have an elective abortion up to birth.

@fenomfangx Really? I had no idea. Ohio is one of those states that you never really think about.

@janhankins911 Trump bragged about ending Roe V Wade, he did not end abortion. This is how the system is supposed to work. If its in the constitution the states are not supposed to be able to violate those constitutional rights. If its not in the constitution its up to the states to vote on it. Abortion is no where in the constitution. You can amend the constitution to add it but that never happened so Roe was a political ruling and not a constitutional ruling. Ending Roe did not end abortion it just gave states the right to vote on the issue.
