  1. The problem is his voters believe that so they would just elect another authoritarian. The founders acknowledged that the constitution was just a piece of paper and its ideals depended on a population willing to live by them.

  2.  @viasevenvai Its not set in stone. You can amend the constitution but democrats know their policies are not popular even among their own voters. And they could never get the numbers to support amending the constitution to criminalize speech or outright criminalize self defense. The problem is dems just ignore the law instead of trying to amend the constitution and republicans allow it. In CA progressives tried to remove civil rights from the CA constitution but it failed through a vote but that didn't stop them from going through with ignoring civil rights laws.

  3. Its not, you can amend the constitution but democrats know even most of their voters would not support criminalizing speech. If they can flood the country with people who don't value free speech, they will eventually have the numbers to amend it and criminalize speech.
