Personally I would require anyone under 40 who votes to sign up for the draft. That way they have some direct skin in the game.

It doesn't mean people decided to end themselves because they saw a story. They were already mentally unsound and the reporting gives them the idea. Media coverage of this stuff and all the power thats given to these nutcases by politicians probably does have a lot to do with influencing how these nuts will act out.

The Biden admin is currently trying to put a black nationalist in prison for 10 years for being against the war. They are accusing him of working for Roosha. Democrats are creating the precedent and the lkeft is cheering it on but neocon republicans at some point will use the precedent to censor the left.
