  1. It would be interesting to see an election with issues on a ballot instead of parties. Immigration, war, climate change etc. If people agree with the republican 70% on the issues, the Republican/Democrat/Libertarian/Green party or whoever wins.

  2. I would not count on it. People eventually just gave up on places like Detroit and Baltimore. The worse things got, the more democrats won in landslide victories. You saw similar complaints at these meetings when Rahm Emanuel was the Mayor. Their answer to Emanuel was Lightfoot. Whoever comes after Johnson will probably be worse or just as bad.

  3.  @tsdobbi  When people vote on issues instead of party, democrats lose most of the time. Gay marriage was banned by popular vote in states like CA and it was because democrats lost the black vote. If you put open borders on the ballot, the democrat position would lose.

  4. If Chicago voters or any current democrat ran place had to check mark issues on a ballot instead of a party, democrats would lose a lot more elections.

  5. I'm jealous of democrat voters. I can see why democrats win in landslide victories in places like Chicago, they actually do what they run on. I wish more republicans would give their voters what they want.
