But its essentially a wealth tax and consumption tax built in at the same time. The property tax will disproportionally tax the rich because they own most of the land. No duh. Also they pass it on to renters? Like you know right now? Same thing. Go live in car and let them bleed. But no tax deductions on property if you use it as residence and how vacant the place is. More vacancy per sq ft more tax. You know why? Property consumes public resources police fire hospitals utilities roads Do you think property does not consume? Nope its just sales tax on their consumption that gives it value. Which depreciates in value anyway. Houses themselves lose value not gain value. The land itself is what gains in value. Not created by the owner. No duh. Unless you sell you want low property values not high like idiots today want for flipping charging rent and borrowing money. Also helps gov take more money.
