@RaleighLink Disagree. All professionals DO NOT abuse horses. Only the incompetent ones. Others use intelligence and knowledge of the animal. That's like saying all football players abuse women. Don't generalize.
4
Pls don't generaliz. All horsey sets, as you call them, are not abusive. The people in our group don't abuse their animal. It's welfare comes 1st. Yes certain groups making money off the horse can be cruel. Let's stop worshipping medals, & money. Be true horse lovers.

@outoforbit00 Are you serious? Horses are very sensitive animals.
2
@kenrehill8775 Whips sting Let yourself be ripped, feel it. You don't use force on animals. Intelligrance corrects a situation.
2
@outoforbit00 Wow so being physical mean you're not sensitive. Many people do meanial jobs, so they're insensitive. Physical endurance had nothing to do with sensitivity.

Trump needs to read the 1991 agreement between the USA and Ukraine. If trump trusts Putin, hes extremely naive. Putin is a former KGB officer who kills opposition. Putin attacked Ukraine. Hes not honorable. Ukraine needs to be supported. Will Trump sell out Ukraine to make money? I choose Trump over the crackling anti American idiot. But here hes wrong. Putin is the evil dictator.
2
Right on. Russia is the agressor

Yes. I choose Trump over the crackling anti American idiot.BUT Trump needs to read the 1991 agreement between the USA and Ukraine. Trusting Putin is naive. And dangerous.

@truepenny2514 Being in the horse world since 5yrs old and over 40yrs, I've seen the ugly side of people. High priced horses, or cheaper ones. Backyard animals are also abused. I've worked with equine vets. Know the ignorance & cruelty ordinary people inflict on their animals. Not all professionals are cruel. It's the individual, not the discipline. (Field)

@outoforbit00 What distinctions?
1
@kenrehill8775 Tapping & Tapping is different. That picture showed striking. I've been in the horse world over 49yrs. I've never struck a horse. The horse reacted to the strike, a tap doesn't cause discomfort.

@MyChilepepper Isn't this the Tennessee Walkers? Never heard of dressage horses being sored. If so by what methods?
1
@outoforbit00 But very sensitive.

@kenrehill8775 Then you'd better look into other animal abuse. Look at bull fighting. Barbaric. Or puppy mills. Better yet slaughter houses. Horror chambers. Sadly many humans are cruel & money hungry. I see pet owners abusing their pets everyday.

@Choochoohamilton Which circle did/do you ride in. Did you report the abusers? I hope for the horses sake

@skeovkp48598 The subject was professional horse people. Yes sadly ordinary horse people thru cruelty or ignorance abuse their horses. I see it. I've confronted them. I've always stated " anyone wanting to purchase any pet must be examined for mental capabilities" and learn about the animal. Many books available. Also applies to children. To many helpless innocent creatures are abused. But remember many people misunderstand the use of aids connected to riding. And an expert knows to apply these harmlessly. To be a excellent owner/rider, the horse always comes 1st. It's comfort, & well being. It's not a toy, an outlet for anger, something to show off, or to exploit. It's your friend & partner. It's a precious gift.

@samanthasmile8150 These people telling you this are not knowledgeable horse people. As horses were my life I have a library full of books on horses. Too many people do not learn to understand how a horse thinks. Or to lazy to learn. But you don't need to dismount. If the horse becomes to frightened, it could break away & run. I always let a horse stand still. Looking at the object as I talk to it & pet it, reassuring it. Or back off a short distance & let the horse see there's no danger. Carry a treat in your pocket, give it to the horse once it's overcome it's fear.
1
@skeovkp48598 It's the individuals mind set. The difference of if you truely love the animal, or exploiting it.
1
@samanthasmile8150 Just a suggestion. What happens if the horse bolts. You're left standing there. If a situation gets bad, the animal is extremely scared I'd turn back. Perhaps face the obstacle from another angle. Or just leave. And try later or next day.
