@marinellabakken7491 Expense has nothing to do with being educated. Many well off people took it upon themselves to be self-taught. Anyone can get informative books to educate themselves. Read history, economics, world affairs , geography, etc. It's the lazy who are ignorant. College doesn't educate one in subjects. Only their particular course to obtain a better job.

@SailorGerry Engineering really isn't the end all for knowledge. It's a specific field. I'm referring to over all knowledge. To make you aware of reality. Of the world happenings. And I for one don't think college helps the over all intelligrance of someone. College people are going after a specific subject. To be a teacher, a business man, a Dr, etc College students are not educated in all subjects. College is limited for specic goals.
