Hi everyone! I'm Cleo, one of the hosts of Glad You Asked. Thanks for watching! I loved learning about how microbes could help us detox resources on Mars, but I'm curious what questions you have! I'll be around in the comments to chat and answer questions all day today.

That's about -63 Celsius! Not warm.

Thank you for the thoughtful suggestion (And for saying it so nicely! Seriously, thank you for that!) I can't change the animations now that the video is up, but it's a really good idea for next time and in the meantime we've added the conversions to the description. They are: At 7:53: 212 degrees Fahrenheit = 100 degrees Celsius At 8:04: 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit = 37 degrees Celsius At 8:45: -81 degrees Fahrenheit = -62.8 degrees Celsius

@AdriIdzwanMansor Hi Adri! I... probably wouldn't, to be honest. I love my current job too much :)

Hello from New York! It is definitely true that astronauts are well trained and would hold up much better than most people (me, for sure) to the kind of immense psychological stress that they would face in traveling to Mars. That said, there's a lot we don't know about that experience and how it will affect our minds, because it's so hard to study here on Earth. It makes sense that a scientist like NASA's Chris McKay would want us to make sure we learn as much as we can before we send astronauts so very far away.

Yoni The K Yes! All episodes will be free here on Vox’s YouTube channel. We’re dropping one episode every Tuesday for the next four weeks, and then five more episodes in January. If you want to binge all five of these first episodes right now and don’t want to wait, they’re available now on YouTube Premium. Hope that helps!
