There is really going to be a time of reckoning for the Saudis once the west is no longer needs their oil. Given the choice between Iran and the Saudis, the former seems the least worst option. In the sponsorship of terrorists stakes, I suspect that the Saudis win that too, but the Americans always choice their friends based on the money.

@working2bselfsufficient724 were it not for oil, they would still be living in tents in the desert. They would certainly not be living in palaces. When the world switches to electric vehicles and Saudi oil is no longer in remade, they will be forced to defend themselves against all those they have oppressed with their oil money, or rather the arms it purchased.
