Brexit will see EU fishing boats excluded from UK waters.

@bca-biciclindcuaxel7527 that will be the default position in the event of a no deal brexit, get use to it.

@alen40to that produces two benefits, it preserves the fish in UK waters and leaves lots of fish for the local market. One must wonder why the EU countries think they are entitled to access UK waters, they did not have access before the UK joined the EU, why should they have access after we leave? It is another example of double standards, let's see them do the same thing to any other independent nation.

@alen40to after the UK leaves the EU, the common EU fishing policy will no longer apply to the UK.

@KingScorpio84 well we know Scotland will not be building royal navy boats.

@alen40to I have already answered this. It will benefit the local market and conserve UK fish stocks. For the first time in forty years, the UK will be in control of its coastal waters and will decide who can fish there and how much they are allowed to catch. The UK might make a profit from all the EU boats that are impounded for illegally fishing in UK waters and the will be all those fish catches that will be forfeited.

@TorianTammas use the royal navy, but there are other more drastic methods.

@bca-biciclindcuaxel7527 no in your nightmare.

@beastieboy3926 yes they will. Wyatt is important to understand is that the fish in UK waters are a UK resource, as much as minerals in the ground. As I pointed out in my previous posts, it is for the UK to catch and sell these fish. To give the EU access to our coastal waters violates the principle that we sell what we produce, not the means of production. It is the responsibility of the UK fishing industry and the government to maintain the good health of the marine environment and the fish stocks it supports. If the French want access to the fish in our waters, they should give UK farmers free access to their farm land, so they can pick as much as they like and sell it back on the French market. The same is true of the natural resources of the other member states. The principle is simple: WE SELL WHAT WE PRODUCE, NOT THE MEANS OF PRODUCTION, NO EXCEPTIONS.

@j.b.2263 did what?

@j.b.2263 even if the new brexit deal passes, the UK will regain control of its coastal waters. That means that the EU will need to apply for a license to access UK waters and the UK will control fish quotas in UK waters. Failure to comply could result in the seizure and forfeit of foreign fishing boats.
1
@j.b.2263 our problem at the moment is European factory fishing boats that are ten times the size of UK boats, scooping all the fish from UK waters leaving a barren lifeless seabed behind. Given how little of the UK fishing fleet remain after years of EU over fishing in our waters, I think there will be sufficient work to keep the remains of them employed after the EU boats have been excluded.

@s13hgp it does suggest that the EU protecting workers rights is a propaganda myth. The EU is all about protecting big business and the investment bankers. The EU economy is sick. As is indicated by it embracing negative interest rates and QE. It is amazing that the Germans who are so debt adverse are happy with the above situation. The German economy appears to be the only one that is showing any growth at the moment, but their currency is linked to all the rest and the Germans will be expected to bail out and fund the rest. The German banks have a big black debt hole at their core, so current German growth may be an illusion, as it is in the US.
