@henrygoodbar9477 the source of ignition is not really relevant, but lightning storms are yet another extreme weather event related to a warming climate. Put more energy into weather systems and there is an increase in both the severity and frequency of extreme weather events, such as tornadoes, hurricanes and thunderstorms. My point was that US and Australian summers are approximately six months apart because of their geographical position, therefore so are the extreme burning events. Australia lost over 1 billion wild animals during their summer, how many are going to be killed in the Californian fires? The US hurricane season normally has an average of 12 named storms, predictions for this year are for 25 named storms.
