  2. The EU insisted the political declaration should be non binding. That means non binding for both sides. It cannot complain now that the uk has decided it is no longer in the interests of the UK to follow it.

  3.  @northeuropeantaxpayer7097  one should always know your enemy and read their propaganda. What Germany failed to do militarily it has tried to do economically. The irony is that while it wanted to rule europe, it did not expect to be forced to pay for it. I don't need to look for doubt in the Europeans, that are doing that themselves with the populist movements. It is big business and the eu elite who are empire building, creating a evolving dystopian future.
