@nostro1940 first I do not shop at McDonald's, second they deliver, thirdly there are other fuels other than carbon based, fourthly there will not be any McDonald's in which to shop, if something is not done about global warming.

@alystero8838 soon they will have no choice but to use delivery vehicles power by non fossil fuels. Unfortunately the oil companies have done a great deal to hinder the development of alternative fuels. The infra structure for battery powered vehicles is lacking, and the battery technology is at least a decade behind where we need it. What could have been a less painful transition away from CO2 generating fuels is now going to be a race to deploy the technology before we are forced to stop using petrol and diesel. I blame the oil companies for forcing us to live in "interesting times". The battery technology we need is really not ready or stable. It is still not clear if other clean energy sources offer a better solution, such as hydrogen fuel cells. Make no mistake, ready or not, the human race must stop using fossil fuels now, or face extinction in the very near future.
