  4.  @axaxx25  never the less the migrants have no wish to stay in the EU, a place that is not exactly brimming with unity. Judging by the border walls that are being erected between member states. If anyone is desperate, it is the french who have lost control of their border.

  5.  @axaxx25  you clearly do not have control of your borders, or the economic migrants would not have been able to make their way across the eu, and you would not have member states building border walls (between member states). It will take time for the uk to recover from being in the grip of the EU parasite. Rather than relying on EU to supply workers, we will be training our own. As far as I can tell the EU is suffering from a similar shortage of foreign workers, the result of covid restrictions. Let's face it, France has lost its battle to control illegal migration, that is why it is so happy to let a few leak across the channel. If life is as bad as you describe in the UK, why are so many migrants trying to reach it.

  6.  @axaxx25  being a member of the eu does not make it important, if anything it diminishes it, as its sovereignty is lost to the EU bureaucracy. I look forward to Irish reunification, as it will make the financial and political liability that NI represents an EU problem, saving the rest of the UK approximately £13 billion per year. It also removes yet another remnant of eu control over the uk. Scotland may obtain a vote for independence, but it is unlikely to be able to join the eu, since it will not meet the economic criteria. One must hope the government has learned a lot from the eu example and will e demanding a significant divorce settlement. As for migration, as I have already pointed out, there must be something really distasteful about the EU that drives migrants to seek to reach the UK. The eu can be likened to a flock of sheep, huddled together against the threat of the circling wolves of Russia, China and the US. It deludes its self of its own importance, when it fact it is just a juicy meal. It is paralysed by its own bureaucracy. Completely impotent to do anything other than make critical noises on the international stage.

  7.  @axaxx25  the uk did not get rich from eu membership, it simply sold its fixed assets to pay the bills and implemented a illusory economy based on magic money printing QE and borrowing. Something the eu is beginning to emulate. The uk could certainly not afforded to remain a member any longer, as it was running out of assets to sell. Now it will be forced to rebalance its economy to be more self sufficient and sell real things it produces. You really should be more worried about the future of the EU, it is facing a number of existential threats which its bureaucracy makes it ill-equipped to deal with. The uk is no longer an eu problem, but you might consider that if the uk was so poor when it joined, why was it always a major contributor to the eu budget. Should it not have been a beneficiary from the budget from day one. Maybe this is just a further conformation of the EU's parasitic nature.
