What is he going to do to stop the EU leaving? With no agreement the UK will still leave on the 19th of March 2019 and nothing he can say or do will stop that.

@hansouth2355 there is nothing in article 50 about borders. Brexit will happen with or without a solution to the border problem. It is likely that the default of a no deal brexit will be a closed border probably implemented by the EU. The point is that brexit is not a function of finding a solution to the border problem, it will happen no matter what.

@hansouth2355 the default is for the border to be closed, that is not a wish is just a fact. I doubt that many will want to cross into NI after brexit. The flow is likely to be in the other direction.
