If the people refuse to recognise his authority, he is finished. If the world's governments fail to recognise him, his end may be the same as Ceausescu. Cyprus has shown the weaknesses of the EU.

La Corneja and there in is the weakness of the EU, since member states are not free to apply their own sanctions.
1
La Corneja what question. If you mean where am I from. I am English.
1
La Corneja this is your ill informed and misguided opinion. Given the failure of the EU you impose sanctions demonstrates EU weakness.
1
La Corneja I provided evidence, you just assert insults. It is you who is weak.
1
La Corneja the EU has only a few options for governance: Unanimous voted agreement between states, this results in paralysis for any contentious issue. Majority voting, this is produces resentment in those who disagree. Dictatorship, where states are given no option but to comply. This is what the federalisation will produce. Every state makes its own policy, in which case the EU is irrelevant. At the moment the first option prevails.
1
La Corneja no it doesn't, if it did Cyprus would not have been able to block sanctions.
1
La Corneja a lie is defined as an untrue statement. Cyprus did block sanctions, which means you cannot tell the difference between a lie and the truth. Which means I know a lot about you.

La Corneja i am not desperate, I am the one pointing out reality, it is you who are denying it. The EU has been shown to be impotent, unable to follow the will of the majority unless it bends to the will of the minority. I am happy to see sanctions applied to both Turkey and Belarus, but linking the two is illogical. It is the same trick used by disreputable politicians in America, when they amend an urgent bill to include some unpopular legislation of their own. Heaven help the EU when it has to fight its first war. It won't be able to defend itself unless some irrelevant amendment is passed. Imagine in the extreme, war cannot be declared until Italian farmers get a 10% increase in the CAP, or some obscure french cheese gets its name protected. The EU is about as united as a bag of ravenous rats.
1
La Corneja no I am pointing out the twisted and contorted ways the EU works. You don't like its flaws being highlighted.
1
La Corneja you cannot fix the unfixable. The faults are structural. It is true I loath the EU and would like to see it destroyed, but that is because it is a corrupt and dangerous organisation, so it is perfectly valid to point out its flaws and limitations. EU supporters are unlikely to be its critics.
1
La Corneja and how did you come to that conclusion??? Any analysis of this thread will show I have been totally consistent. Unlike you, who offers no evidence, just insults.
1
La Corneja again with no evidence, simply making a statement does not make it true.
1
La Corneja do you deny that Cyprus blocked sanctions against officials in Belarus? In an attempt to force the EU to link such sanctions to sanctions to be imposed on Turkey? Does this not demonstrate the tail wagging the dog, highlighting a weakness in the EU? The EU is incapable of timely action without radical reorganisation, and such reorganisation will take it further down the road to dictatorship, via federal government.
1
La Corneja You do realise that all you are saying are meaningless platitudes don't you?
1
La Corneja I am rapidly reaching the conclusion that you are a Bot program, incapable of cogent argument.
