@TheSuperappelflap the only way the EU myth can become true is if the federal EU government takes over and taxes and allocated funds to every member state. Even then it will not work, as the US federalist model has demonstrated. There are still poor deprived states and rich ones. All the rich northern member states are doing is either propping up inefficient southern states or funding their future competitors in the microcosm of the global market. The EU's Imperial ambitions will result in its destruction, when it thinks it is sufficiently large to take on one of the other big power blocks. Its foreign and military policy is suffering from crowd bravada. All the internal market is doing is making it attractive for the world's predators. It that respect it acts like a flock of frightened sheep, huddled together for protection from the circling wolves. The error in your argument is that you fail to realise that there is nothing to stop INDEPENDENT sovereign states acting in concert for their common good. This does not require the top down Soviet model that the EU is currently pursuing. A model that history has shown is doomed to failure.
