  1. It is none of the above, but it is an effective proving ground for NATO weapons, that seem to be far better than anything the Russian can deploy. So far NATO has not been involved, apart from supplying a few weapons and humanitarian aid. I suspect the Russians would notice if NATO seriously became involved.

  2. The deaths of these Russian service men rest with Putin, and no one else. It is easy to forget that deaths in war are of real people, even if they are on the side of an evil aggressor. What is sad is that this people died for the deluded ambition of Vladimir Putin, a mass murderer and a liar. If Ukraine is behind this attack, which is in little doubt, it is not responsible for the killing of these service men. Ukraine is only defending itself against an unprovoked attack by Russia.
