Erdogan has a long term plan, he wants Turkey to take over as the leader of the Muslim world. As soon as he is perceived as a real threat in this respect, there will be attempts to assassinate him.

@Cp I think you mean rule, and it is very likely. In order to achieve his ambitions Erdogan must take turkey away from being a secular society. If he is perceived as a threat by Saudi Arabia, he will be removed. They own the biggest candy store and do not competitors.
