The taking away the microphone is not the story, it is the failure of the president to answer the questions. A more quick witted president would have been able to handle the situation, putting the reporter in his place, but trump walks away and leaves to a female aid to protect him.

NPC #ANT1FA the president failed to act in a presidential manner, but then it's what we have come to expect of Trump. He could have turned this around using the political trick of asking questions of the reporter. He showed panic and a lack of control by walking away from the microphone.

@zebfischer6088 I watched what the media allowed me to see, as did the rest of the world. The reporter was rude and confrontational, however the president did not handle this in the way that might be expected of an experienced politician and world leader.

@lynnsmith399 he did not manhandle her, he stopped her taking away the microphone. Since this is a radio microphone, likely owned by the Whitehouse, one might ask why the person standing at the podium does not have a switch that disables ( switch off) the microphone receiver. Once the microphone receiver is off, holding the microphone would then be pointless (mute).

Josh Swett I was not in the Whitehouse at the time so I can only see what is published by the media. From comments posted here, it seems I have see the whole interaction, and my opinion is the same. I have not seen Trump doing much to clean the swamp, I have noted that he has appointed unqualified people to government job, apparently based only on the size of their bank accounts and the size of there donations to the republican party. So cleaning the swamp appears to involve adding a fresh layer of slime. US politics is rather complicated as bribery has been legalised in the form of party donations and it's connection to lobbying.

@paniculata08 i support a few of trump's policies, such as his fight against globalisation, but while you are not watching he is signing into law things that harm Americans, but help his rich billionaire friends. The latest is the sell off of public land, including national parks for mining and forestry. I would not be surprised if he does not justify this by claiming California would not be burning if all the trees were cut down. Some historians believe the decline and fall of the Roman empire was due to their habit of sweating their wine with sugar of lead ( lead acetate ). It resulted in a significant fall in IQ and attention deficit disorder. Maybe Flint Michigan, is not the only place in the us with toxic amounts of lead in the water:-).
