EU control over the UK is slipping away. The withdrawal agreement will be finessed to remove the element of control the EU thinks it still has over the UK. It is only a matter of time before the EU realise that the withdrawal agreement is not going to work in the its favour. If the UK is pushed into a corner, it can expect the UK to fight back. The UK should never have signed the withdrawal agreement in the first place, there was no advantage for the UK, less now as we head for a no deal brexit. The terms of the withdrawal agreement was all to the advantage of the EU, it is thus not surprising that the UK is looking for all the loopholes. Pushed to the extreme, it will be entirely ignored.

@scottishlisa3463 you are correct. The withdrawal agreement, which overwhelmingly favours the EU was a blackmail plot that promised a future trade deal if the UK signed the withdrawal agreement. If the is no deal, then the conversion of the blackmail disappears, then all bets are off. The EU can expect the UK to reinterpret the withdrawal agreement more in its favour. Certainly the EU will not receive any cooperation in its implementation. Without a deal, EU influence over the UK evaporates.

@jarlehansson3127 this is not really a negoation, since the UK is being expected to provide all of the stake. The EU wants to retain access to the UK coastal waters. The EU is not giving up access to its coastal waters. It wants to control the whole of the UK via its influence over Northern Ireland. It wants to hobble UK trade via its insistence on a level playing field. The UK is a sovereign country, it is up to the UK government how it supports its industries.
