  1. It does seem very primitive that luxury cars are designed with dead animal skins as seat covers. It is perverse that animal skin,which are a waste product of the meat industry, were seen as a mark of luxury attracting a premium price and reserved for the high end models. It is not exactly a furturistic technology, I doubt if spaceships are furnished with leather, apart for anything else it has such a horrible smell.
