It is very simple, we want to be an independent state again, as we were for the thousands of years before we joined the common market/ EU. We want to trade with Europe, not be ruled by it. What is so difficult to understand?

@peabase no, the EU elite have repeatedly shown themselves as a hostile power. The terms and conditions of the withdrawal agreement have shown that the EU way to turn the UK into a vassal state if it leaves the EU. I really do not care what the leaders of the 27 think. They export £80 billion more to us per year than we do to them. Any trade sanctions will simply make the UK more self sufficient, forcing the rebalancing of the UK economy towards home production.

@peabase the word is fictitious, and the EU elite are not fictitious, nor are their more secretive masters, who intend to profit from the formation of the EU super state. Do you really think the people of Europe had anything to do with the withdrawal agreement? Looking a the people's revolt spreading across Europe, it looks as if many are just waking up to what their leaders are planning for them. It is ironic that the leaders of the EU have named this revolt as populism, as in popular as in the view of the majority. Your view of the EU elite depends if you think they have the good of the people at heart, which I do not. But even if they were the case, do they have the right to treat the people as pets. Is slavery any the less slavery if the master/owner is beneficent?

@peabase and how did you work that out you dimwit? No, I am an anti globalist. I am also interested in stopping the growing wealth gap between the super rich and the rest of society. Your support for the EU suggests you are a fascist who believes in an undemocratic plutocracy. Rule by an unelected elite for the benefit of the super rich.

@peabase the new fascist empire is the EU. My grasp on reality seem better than yours, there can be no dispute about the growing wealth gap between the super rich very few and the rest. This is a well documented fact. Any analysis of globalisation shows how damaging it is, it is very easy to characterise it as evil. You seem blind to the dictatorship that the EU has become. It meets all the criteria for being a fascist entity. It is a plutocracy where an unelected few believe it is their right to dictate the fate of the rest of society. Hopefully a populist revolution will see an end to the EU federal project.
