It says something about EU arrogance that it should even be contemplated that the EU should have supervision over the independent sovereign UK. The EU collective is increasingly behaving like the Borg monsters from sci-fi star trek. Their mantra is very similar: "We are the EU. Lower your tariffs and surrender your fishing boats. You will be assimilated. We will add your biological and technological distinctiveness to our own. Your culture will adapt to service us. Resistance is futile"

@Marius Periwinkle we do not want to be in the customs union or the single market. WTO will do, it will cut EU import the the UK. The withdrawal agreement did not cover post UK EU trade relations only the transition period and we will be free of that by the end of the year, as the EU was so keen to point out. I agree that the UK should not have signed the withdrawal agreement, it should have kept its £39 billion.

Miguel Melchior as I said, entertainment for the tourists. The EU needs a minimum quality work force to maintain the wealth differentials across the EU.

@Marius Periwinkle no I don't think so. The EU is not the only place that grows things. UK farmers will also need the home market to replace the EU, and in any case there is a good chance that global warming will decimate EU agriculture this summer. Maybe we will send you some of our supplies. The EU is doing exactly what is necessary to rebalance the UK economy. Forcing it to be more self-sufficient. I will be happy watching the UK trade deficits with the EU dwindle to nothing. We know your tourist industry is going to suffer. You will just have to encourage more Chinese to visit.

Miguel Melchior disgusting??? Is that how you view Chinese tourists or do you not understand that the EU need new drones. Your region will n Be improved to the point where it can provide cheap labour. Somewhere to manufacture products at low cost, to be sold to the rich regions. It is globalisation in microcosm. Don't expect to see much of the profits from this trade, it is skimmed off by the super rich few who facilitate this trade. Clearly, poor toothless fisherman were not suitable for manufacturing cannon fodder.
