@alfa one obey who? Turkey is brave because it is bidding behind the cover of NATO. If Turkey gets its self in trouble with Russia, it expects NATO to come to its aid. NATO was set up to protect its members from unprovoked attacks from none members, I don't know what it's response will be if a NATO member proves to be the aggressor who subsequently gets in to trouble and finds its self out of its military depth. Turkey has not exactly been a good member of NATO, with its on/off relationship with Russia.
Not so long ago it was shooting down Russian jets that were allegedly attacking Isis support convoys originating in Turkey.
Then Turkey announced it would be buying Russian air defence systems, How did that happen????
Now Turkey is telling the Russians to stand aside while it attacks Syrian Army troops.
I hope the major powers have a better understanding of what is going on in Syria and who is allied with whom, it is certainly completely opaque to an outside observer, whose only access to information is the news media and the internet.
We have a justifiable interest, if Turkey can drag NATO into a confrontation with the Russians.
Just like the Americans, the Russians chose very poor quality friends for politically expedient reasons. How can the Russians support the dictatorship of the Assad regime? Then again the Assad opposition contains Isis. I say a POX on both their houses, and pity for the true innocents who just want a peaceful life, free of dictatorial tyranny.
