In his previous job he did a lot to promote anti eu populism. Unfortunately for him that was not his intention. Populism = popular = the view of the majority. This implies that anti populism is anti democratic.

@bca-biciclindcuaxel7527 I assume you are commenting your own posts. A typical defence of a fascist. What you are saying is that the people are stupid and the state and associated elite know better. If you want to identify which states are dictatorships, look for words like people's and democracy in their name. Applying this rule to tusks European people's party, suggests it has very little to do with the people of Europe, other than telling them what to do. The fight against populism is a fight to stop the people thinking for themselves.

@mozan4469 it is a common trick for the thief to cry thief to distract attention away from themselves. Here we have a fascist deflecting attention away from himself be calling anyone who opposes him by the same name. How better to defeat democracy than by claiming to have democratic mandate to reject democracy. What is democracy if it is not the majority will of the people or populism. The only difference is it is not the will of the government so the government claims it is not democratic. As I have said many times it is always possible to identify the most authoritarian dictatorships by the inclusion of the word democratic in their title. It is a safe bet when their title starts "The people's democratic...." they have little to do with the people and nothing to do with democracy.
