  1. The UK is being offered the choice between remaining in the EU as a full member or remaining in the EU as a vassal state ( May's deal). Note, the choice to leave the EU is not on offer from the political classes. Democracy has been dead for a long time. What we experience is an illusion of democracy. All is sweetness and light provided the people follow the rules and vote the way the political elite want The spectre of real democracy made a brief appearance when the ruling elite momentarily lost control and allowed a referendum. A single issue vote where every vote counts. This revealed the illusion of democracy usually provided by general elections where the electorate are often presented with a Hobson's choice. In a general election only the votes in marginal political seats actually count and influencing the final result. Post lection the party elected to government is free to interpret it's manifesto pledges as it wishes, ignoring any that might prove to be inconvenient.

  2.  @bca-biciclindcuaxel7527  at the moment there is a fine balance between remaining in the EU of leaving without a deal. What the remain side refuses to acknowledge is that remaining inside the EU is not a stable option. The status quo cannot be maintained as UK membership has seen it spiralling into debt. Remain is really not a stable option. Only leaving will force the UK economy to reform and rebalance. Only leaving will give it the freedom to make the necessary changes.
