Scottish independence? Not really if it is going to hand its sovereignty back to the EU. If allowed back into the EU, they will likely be forced to adopt the euro and thus be subject to EU financial governance.

@fabioshire97 the EU is an organisation that wants to be a federation, with a federal government. It already has much of the federal structures in place. Your failure to notice this is typical of a stupid myopic europhile.

Miguel Melchior that works both ways, a minority in Scotland want to keep the majority of the whole of the UK in an abusive relationship with the EU. It is Scotland trying to chose England's friends. But talk of friends is nonsense in matters of government. The EU is a hostile foreign power attempting to control the UK. I really do not care what the Scots do. I just commented on the rhetoric of the SNP, and their uses of the word independence is simply wrong.

Miguel Melchior you are confusing government with the people. Today's vote shows that the people of the UK still want to leave the EU. As to the use of the eu budget, they take our money and then give some of it back, telling us how to spend it. The rest is used to pay for those who are telling us what we can spend our money on and the rest is used to fund our competitors in the EU.

@fabioshire97 I think you will find that everyone is equal in the EU, just some are more equal than others. I think you will find that Scotland in the EU will be ruled by the tyranny of the majority. Remind me again, how many scottish PMs has the UK had?

Miguel Melchior I address you question to those in Catalonia. I have no interest in Scotland. The rest of the UK seem to be more concerned with escaping the grip of the eu parasite than worrying if Scotland wants to throw itself into its gaping maw.

@fabioshire97 are you not aware that the eurocrates intend to introduce majority voting as a necessary requirement to speed up federalisation? In any case, decisions made in the EU are decided by a process of quid pro quo and blackmail. Ask Greece, Italy and a number of the other smaller states that do not seem to be able to get their own way.

@gloin10 so the EU did not instigate legal proceedings against any EU state. The French do not have workers protests and riots. The Italians were not forced to amend their budget to suit the EU and Greece did not sell its assets at a knock down price to payoff German banks. The EU did not allow Greece to join the euro zone knowing that it failed to meet the entry criteria. The EU did not use any UK money to provide grants to our competitors in the EU. And less forget, the UK had a glorious idyllic time in the EU for the past forty years and does not have an £80 billion anual trade deficit with the EU. EU boats have not decimated the UK fishing industry. There are absolutely no plans for further integration towards a federal EU. I could go on, but you get the picture.

@gloin10 oh I get the picture, the EU is on the scene of all the crimes, but did nothing wrong. The idea that the EU is a golf club is simply ludacris, it operates more like the Mafia, using blackmail and extortion. The idea it did not know that the Greek government cooked the books is beyond belief. If it did not know it is criminal incompetent, but in practice it was a case of don't ask don't tell. Because it wanted to expand the euro zone for political reasons. Most of the Greek bailout money, was returned to German banks, to stop them going bust for incompetent leading. Nice to see your opinion of the french, I am sure they will like that. In practice the French government is eroding workers rights to meet EU austerity targets. So much for the EU protecting workers rights. The UK fishing industry was destroyed by unfair fishing quotas, which kept UK boats in port while EU factory boats emptied UK waters of fish, throwing many dead fish back into the water because they did not meet the quota requirements. No plans for a federal government!!! You cannot be serious, it has always been the intention of the EU to have a European Central government, and many of the small changes it introduces are to further this agenda. Why else does it need its own military or embassies, they are all the trappings of statehood, usurping the roles of the member states. It is a creeping process, but the movement is inexorably towards the formation of a EU federal super state. It can be argued that it is necessary as it is the only way to stabilise the euro. The Germans have resisted the formation of a banking union or a central EU fund. They expected to control Europe not pay for it. They do not want to fund feckless member states, that is one of the reasons the Italians have not been allowed to budget on improving their neglected infrastructure. On could go on, but you get the picture.
