At last the UK has a pm willing to stand up to the EU bullies. The UK is leaving, the EU must adjust to that reality. Had it made fewer demands, it might have salvaged something of their Brexit document demands, as it is they will get nothing.

There is not a mechanism to force the UK to pay anything. Under the terms of article 50, the UK owes the EU nothing if it leaves without a deal that agrees a bill.

@josedourado3747 wrong again, if we continue to trade with an £80 billion trade deficit we will become a third world country. You should be more worried that the EU is importing a third world economy of migrants. The EU also has its own financial worries, with negative interest rates an banks carrying a mass of bad debts. The Greek economic crisis has not gone away, they have just been locked down the road and are now being denied.

@Mr. Cheesy Chips the EU cannot be trusted, it operates in the same way as many criminal organisations. The Mafia could learn a lot by following the EU example.

@josedourado3747 Mexico did not pay, it has been left to the American tax payer and the UK will not pay either way. We only pay when we get something worthwhile in return. The EU has always been a bad deal. The more the EU tries to punish the UK, the less the UK will import from the EU. That's £80 billion of trade deficit that we will erase.

@josedourado3747 I do not like Trump, the only thing he has gotten right is that globalisation is a bad thing. I regard it as the root of all evil. I suspect has reasons are more to do with vested self interest.
