Does the eu really want to be bound to a country where 17.5 million citizens hate the EU and all it stands for. This will never end until the UK is free of the EU.

John Wilson in your opinion it was wrong to vote leave. A classic example of remainer arrogance.

John Wilson I am prepared for a battle of wits, but it would be unfair as you appear to be unarmed. It seems pointless reiterating the case for leaving the EU, as I have done it so many times in the last few years. There are financial, economic, social, political, democratic and cultural reasons why the UK should never have joined the EU and why it is still better to leave. Just because it is now very difficult for the UK to escape the EU parasite, does not mean that it is not worth the effort trying.

John Wilson given the project fear that ran before the brexit campaign, I doubt there was much ambiguity in the feels of those who voted to leave. It is not those who voted to leave who are unstable, they seem rather resolute. It is the mental health of those on the remain side that must be called into question. They appear to be deluded and easily mislead.

John Wilson you were the one who assumed voting leave was wrong. Not everyone buys into the EU utopia or wants any part of it. Voting leave is perfectly logical if you want nothing to do with the corrupt, undemocratic EU.

John Wilson you really have lost the plot. My point of view is the diametric opposite of being anti British. It is anti EU. You are a fool if you cannot see the difference. The EU is not Britain and Britain is certainly not the EU, though there are those in Brussels who would like it so.

nat10nic brexit has created a cold war with the EU. Mrs May made the mistake of referring to the EU as our friends, where in fact the EU is a hostile power intent on damaging the UK economy. The eurocrates have admitted that they wish to punish the UK for having the temerity to leave. The EU needs to set an example. In these negotiations, the UK cannot afford to treat the EU as "our friends", They see it as a zero sum gain and so should we. It is not exactly war, but as a mafioso would say " its just business". Mrs May has failed badly in these negotiations so far. We should have started on WTO terms and worked back to a better compromise. She should not have said on day one we will pay any divorce settlement. In an minor car accident, any lawyer or insurance company will advise you not to admit liability at the start of damage negoations. Mrs May gave away most of her advantages at the very start and was forced to back track in a very unconvincing fashion. So blurred has Mrs May's red lines become, she has ceased to negotiate with the EU on the countries behalf, she is now negotiating with the country on behalf of the EU. Trying to sell the country a plan that greatly favours the EU.

John Wilson we may be Europeans geographically, but we are not EU citizens. Your ideas of friendship appear to involve a lot of arm twisting. The EU is at best an abusive partner. The EU seems to think friendship can be demanded rather than earned.

John Wilson why are remainers so patronising and smug?
2
Troll King i would love to give NI back to SI, but the decision is up to those in NI. The strongest reason for giving it back is that it is a liability to rUK and transfering it to SI and the EU will be a windfall for rUK and a millstone round the necks of SI and the EU. In practice they really do not want NI back.

John Wilson I don't need to create devision it already exists, but you must distinguish between Europeans and the EU, that are not the same. The EU is an organisation and a philosophy. It is that we hate.
2
John Wilson that was the number who voted to leave the EU (to be precise 17,410,742. I rounded up the first decimal place). They did not do this out of love for the organisation.

John Wilson i have auto spell corrector switched on and it does not understand remainer, insisting on correcting it to remanded. The only way round the problem is to spot the autocorrection and force the spelling. Even then if the screen blanks the correction is lost. Simply a technical problem with this tablet and the android OS. Yes I do know what smug means, and in this case it goes with deluded. As in deludedly contentedly confident in their own abilities, condescending and didactic.

John Wilson I stated a position that I am willing to defend.

John Wilson if your information I am native English living in Cambridgeshire, and you cannot claim friendship unilaterally or by force, it has to be reciprocated. I make no claims of friendship or otherwise with Europeans, my enemy is the EU and all it stands for and those who support it.

@jasonkingshott244 important to read the small print. We may end up prisoners of the EU and not find out about the sentence for years.

@Poisson is Queen ! ! ! much easier to move all the remain voters to that concentration camp known as the EU, after all it is where the camp guards traditional live.

@jasonkingshott244 no idea about the weather in Moscow, I live in England, soon to be free of the EU.
