  1. Lukashenko's mistake was claiming an 80% victory in the election. Had his ego allowed, he could have claimed a 52% victory and been given the benefit of the doubt by the west. The size of the opposition makes the 80% result look like a fraudulent election fix.

  2. Maybe he is just providing an excuse for Putin's forces to move in. The reason there is a curfew, and your civil rights have been terminated is so our armed russian friends, now seen on the streets, can defend us from NATO aggression.
