I assume this is the same EU stooge government that enforced austerity against the will of the people and allowed the sale of Greek assets in a fire sale. Nothing has really changed. Tax is still being evaded by the rich. The only real change is that Greece is in a far worse position to make money than it was before it joined the EU and the euro zone.

aantony2001 why is Thatcher's irritation at the conditions on which Greece joined the EU be relevant now. It is an established fact that Greece was allowed to join under false pretences. It could be argued that the UK also joined under false pretences, it should have been a net recipient from the EU budget, not a contributor, but a combination of national pride and expediency ensured the UK joined on the wrong terms. In the case of Greece it was more likely a case of greed and opportunism.
