Glad Mr Trump has assured the world there is no such thing as global warming. So sure of this fact, he has suppressed new science that disagrees with him and removed the words "global warming" from the dictionary of the US government. Now if he can just persuade the Japanese of their need for more US coal imports to keep them warm.......

zbudda so Japan will not want any further temperature increases due to global warming.

fart face 15 seconds, that is showing significant restraint. Detailing Trump's crimes, I would be luck to wait more than a second. My comments about Trump's policy on global warming are true. I wonder if there is a connection between the billions in donations he received from those who own the US coal industry.

zbudda you really should refrain from commenting on climate issues if you think a reactor melt down changed Japanese weather. While a single hot summer does not indicate a weather trend, we are not really talking about more than one hot summer and an effect that is global. Before you trot out the "it's a natural cycle" argument, during the 70s the scientific community was predicting the earth entering another ice age. Trump is doing the US no favours by holding back its technology to that of the 19th century. The rest of the world has moved on and is not a market for US fossil fuels. Soon the US won't be able to give them away. Given the huge land mass of the US, it won't be long before the effects of global warming start to make life there very unpleasant.

zbudda there is no accounting for government madness, do the power stations have carbon capture? Given they have poisoned their environment with radiation, have built reactors with inadequate fail safe protection, I suppose we cannot expect better. I am sure this additional power will be well used running air conditioning units.

zbudda without carbon capture they will become part of the global warming problem. Carbon capture is nota solution, as it is inefficient and expensive. Storing the compressed CO2 is just creating a potential bomb for the future. These power stations can only be a short term stop gap having failed to adequately control its nuclear power stations.

zbudda yes it is expensive and does not work very well, creating as many problems as it solves, depending which system is used. But if you are going to burn carbon then the waste can no longer be dumped into the atmosphere.
